A grandmother of the priestess Adja, the Lady of Ithaenc, she was one of the Falatacot living in Dericost near the end of the Millennium War.[1][2] As a child, she fled the captivity of the Ice Throne[1], escaping the purge of the remaining Falatacot in Dericost by the Latzimestal who blamed them for their kingdom's defeat at the hands of the Haebrous and Yalaini.[2]

A number of years later, she was instrumental in bringing an end to the war by aiding the Haebrous king, Jailne, and the Yalaini empress, Alaidain, in finding the secret ways through the trackless tunnels of Vasmora, the great cavern beneath the Plateau of Gelid, where they defeated King Sarvien II in a pitched battle.[1][2][3][4]

During the Empyrean Shadow War, Lady Maila Realaidain sought the help of Lady Adja to protect her son, Asheron, from the Hopeslayer's rage using the forbidden ways to extend life taught to her by her mother and grandmother.[1][5][6]

She lived an exceptionally long life by Empyrean standards due to the preservative Falatacot spells known to her family.[1][7]

In Empress Alaidain's waning years, she entrusted Alaidain's Gem to the wards of Ithaenc.[8][9] It is possible that Adja's grandmother was among these wards, although there is no known evidence to base this speculation on.

Apocrypha

In a 2016 Q&A, former developer Chris "Stormwaltz" L'Etoile describes Lady Adja as "the last full-blood descendant of a line of Falatacot who communed with the Deru."[10] While not mentioned by name, this suggests Adja's grandmother was descended from the Light Falatacot faction. If accurate, this would represent the only mention of a Light Falatacot living amongst the Dericost during the events of the Millennium War.
