Overview
Beta / Release
During this period, there is very little information on the world at large.
The earliest mentions of Falatacot, Dericost, Haebrous, or Yalaini:
Felscuda, the scholar living on the Folthid Estate, mentions the word Falatacot, which she says has something to do with Dericost. She goes on to explain that Alatar Locke thinks Dericost was once a powerful, evil Empyrean kingdom.[1]
The translators, which either existed at release or were added during December 1999's Sudden Season event, also mention the Empyrean cultures in their opening dialog. Fanzen describes the Falatacot as an Empyrean culture that lived in the ruins found in the swamps and desert.[2] Kuyiza says she is a scholar of the Millennium War and will translate text of Dericost, Haebrous, or early Yalain.[3]
Finally, there is Rytheran's Letter which either existed at release or was added during December 1999's Sudden Season event. In this letter, Rytheran recounts to Aerfalle the first time they came to Killiakta (Dereth). He writes that they had to travel to the southern port of Nesortania to find a ship not trapped by ice. And that their first sight of Killiakta was the peninsula where the Yalain would later build a lighthouse.[4]
