Nesortania

From Aelrynth Wiki

Nesortania is a region on the Dericost continent. It was a province of the Seaborne Empire of Yalain.[1][2][3] The Yalaini ruled over Nesortania, along with the rest of the remnants of the kingdom of Dericost, since the conclusion of the Millennium War.[4][5] At present, it is assumed that Nesortania is occupied by the Olthoi.[6]

Events

Approximately 15,000 to 10,000 years ago,[5][7] during the Cooling of the World, Rytheran, Aerfalle, and Geraine IV had to travel to the southern port of Nesortania to find a ship not trapped by ice.[7]

In RE 366 (-2,532 PY) Emperor Caerlin I held the title of Sovereign of Glystaene and Nesortania.[2]

In RE 388 (-2,510 PY) Nesortania Province was overran by Bael'Zharon's forces.[1]

In HE 95 (-1,147 PY) Delacim arrived at Aerlinthe and opened fixed portals to major population centers, Nesortania being one such destination.[1][8]

Location on Auberean

Nesortania is on the mainland of Auberean, as opposed to being part of the Imperial Archipelago.[3] Given the Yalaini emperor's titles after the Millennium War are the Ruler of the Seaborne Empire of Yalain, Regent of Haebrous, Sovereign of Glystaene and Nesortania, and Chevaird-Commander of the Dericost Marches, it seems most reasonable to assume that Nesortania (and Glystaene) are on the Dericost continent, since his title already covers Haebrous.[2]

More pieces of evidence to place Nesortania on Dericost are:

  • Rytheran, Aerfalle, and Geraine IV traveled to Nesortania to find a ship to reach Dereth. We could assume that their journey began in Gelid, and they traveled south by land to reach Nesortania.[7]
  • Atlan, when describing the trouble that began in Daralet in the north, said that abductions occurred as far south as the coastal ports in the region of the great port at Nesortania.[9]
  • Atlan again, describing his army's march, said that they had come up from the port of Planae, east of Nesortania, and that they had entered the Dericost Marches, then passed through Daralet.[10]
