Click to select: Radar dots and monster nameplates

Added in RynthCore 2026.9.30.8.

What it is

You can now select a monster in game by clicking its dot on the RynthCore Radar, or by clicking its nameplate (the name and health bar floating over it). It works just like clicking the monster in the 3D world: it becomes your selection, and the game's selection window and the gold frame on its plate show it. On the Radar you can also click NPC, portal and door dots. Both features are on by default, and each has its own switch.

How to open it

There's nothing to open. You only need:

  • the Radar panel open (the compass button on the RynthCore bar), with RynthAi running, since RynthAi provides the radar dots; and/or
  • monster nameplates switched on in the Vision panel, on the Nameplates tab.

The basics

On the Radar

  1. Hover a dot. A tooltip shows its name and distance, for example "Drudge Skulker / 12 yd", and a white ring circles the dot.
  2. Left-click the dot. That monster, NPC, portal or door becomes your selection in game.

The click area is a little bigger than the dot, and it grows with the radar zoom and your UI scale.

Dragging still moves the Radar. If you press on a dot and move the mouse more than a few pixels, it counts as a drag and nothing is selected. Right-click still opens the Radar's menu.

It works the same when the Radar is popped out into its own window.

On a monster nameplate

  1. Hover a monster's plate. A thin white edge appears around it.
  2. Left-click anywhere in the plate (the name, the health bar, or the box around them). That monster is selected, and its plate turns gold.

While the mouse is over a plate, that click goes to the plate, not to the game. Every other click goes to the game as before.

Your own plate isn't affected.

You can also use chat for the nameplates:

  • /rv plates click on or /rv plates click off switches it.
  • /rv plates status shows whether it's on.

With Click a dot to select it off, clicking a dot does nothing and there are no hover tooltips. With Click a plate to select off, plates never take a click; every click goes to the game.

Tips

  • Nameplates are the quickest way to switch targets in a crowded fight. Just click the plate of the monster you want.
  • Use the Radar to select something you can't see yet, such as a portal around a corner or an NPC behind a wall.
  • The Sense panel uses the same kind of select. Click a row there to select something even further away.
  • If you have the Radar's Docked click-through (hold Ctrl to interact) option on, clicks on the docked Radar pass through to the game. As the option's name says, holding Ctrl should let you click a dot; if a click goes to the game instead, turn click-through off while you pick targets.

Known limits

  • AC's own windows over a plate. Nameplates are drawn under AC's own windows (chat, inventory, the retail radar), but RynthCore can't tell when the mouse is over one of those windows. So if a plate is behind an AC window, a click on that window at that spot selects the monster instead of reaching the window. If this gets in your way, move the window or turn Click a plate to select off.
  • RynthCore panels are safe. A plate under a RynthCore panel or popup can't be clicked; the panel gets the click.
  • Radar dots are matched by position. A dot is matched to the nearest object of the same kind, within about 5 metres. If two monsters with the same name stand on top of each other, you might get the other one of the pair. A dot whose monster has just left the area selects nothing.
  • The first moment of a hover. A click at the exact instant the mouse arrives on a plate may go to the game instead. Move onto the plate, then click.
  • The UI toggle. With RynthCore's UI capture switched off (the Insert key), plates can't be clicked; the game gets every click.
  • Things that just died or despawned, or a click as you go through a portal, simply select nothing.
  • ImGui Radar only. The older Avalonia radar doesn't have this.
